Since its abandonment this former railway yard, and typical deserted industrial area, has become a natural rich inner-city jungle.
Certain buildings have been preserved, such as the Brückenmeisterei and the water-tower, and an old steam locomotive can be inspected as it sits forgotten on the tracks.
There is plenty to explore and discover, for which reason the location is often used as a backdrop for various film and television productions, including even theatre and exhibitions.
As well as the old buildings on the site, the park is also home to over 20 species of bird and 350 different types of plant, a genuine home for nature.
This is the ideal location for some urbexing, (urban exploring) at an abandoned location, with the added opportunity for some excellent nature photography.
